Patek Philippe 2404R Vintage rectangular watch.The  The watch is made in 18K Rose  gold, and measuring 24 x 37mm, and is nick named Canape', (Canopy).  The watch is fitted with the 9" 90 caliber 18-jewel rectangular Manuel wind movement #838830; case # 641294.  The watch was made in 1946 and sold later that year on October 25, and is confirmed with an extract from the archives confirming its date of manufacture and further sale.  The watch is triple signed, dial, movement and case.  The dial is silvered, with raised gold dagger indexes, and Feuille hands.  The dial is original and not reprinted.  The watch is further accompanied leather burgundy strap and yellow buckle.
 

Essay:  Patek Philippe introduced the reference 2404 in 1945 and it was in production for approximately 10 years. This model has been nicknamed the "Canape" due to its profile shape. The two piece cases were made by Markowski and feature geometrical lugs
